I Declare War To Release "Malevolence" On June 8th

May 10, 2010
CURRENTLY ON SHORT RUN TOUR TO PROMOTE ALBUM WITH SUMMER TOUR TO FOLLOW

I Declare War's self-produced album, Malevolence, will be released on June 8th as part of the Artery Recordings/Razor & Tie joint venture. The Seattle-based death metal/metalcore band agrees that the new album is their heaviest and most focused record to date. Fans can look forward to a heavy and aggressive album that speaks to a variety of subject matters the band finds corrupt in today's world.

Malevolence was recorded at Red Room Recordings in the band's hometown of Seattle with engineer Chris Common, who also edited and mixed the album. When discussing the album, guitarist Evan Hughes states, "The lyrics are based on a lot of what we think is corrupt in the world today - government, religion, and the self-inflicted downfall of humanity. The title reflects the overall feeling of the lyrics and a basic view of how we see the world today." The album can be preordered now at http://ideclarewar.merchnow.com/ or in a variety of different packages, including a selection of official I Declare War t-shirts. I Declare War is currently on a short tour with Whitechapel and Son of Aurelius, which Hughes says, "Is going to be great for getting our name out there a little more and promoting some of the new songs from the album." This summer they will embark on tour with Molotov Solutio, Dr. Acula, and Monsters.

I Declare War is comprised of Jonathan Huber (vocals), Evan Hughes (guitar), Chris Fugate (guitar), Brent Eaton (bass), and Ryan Cox (drums). Founded in 2005, the band has gone through a few lineup changes but now feel they have attained the sound they had been looking for. They have previously released their first full length album, Amidst The Bloodshed, in 2008 through Compton Records. Hughes also reflects the band's sentiment towards the Artery/Razor & Tie imprint when he says, "Everyone at Artery and Razor & Tie have been extremely helpful and awesome to work with so far. There are only good things coming up for us, so we can't wait to see where it all takes us."

Artery Recordings is the label home to The Artery Foundation and is an imprint of independent label Razor & Tie, whose first three releases were Chelsea Grin, Bury Tomorrow, and Attila. A management company since 2004, Artery has a knack for finding diamonds in the rough and nurturing them into worldwide prominence. Some of their recent artists on the Billboard charts have included Top 40 releases with The Devil Wears Prada and A Day To Remember as well as Top 100 releases with Alesana and Breathe Carolina and additional artists such as Dance Gavin Dance, Attack Attack! and Whitechapel.

New York-based Razor & Tie is one of the fastest growing independent record labels in the United States. The label has garnered both Platinum sales and Grammy awards, and is rapidly increasing their presence in the rock and metal genres. Their ever-expanding roster includes artists such as All That Remains and Dead Confederate, as well as upcoming releases from Norma Jean and Just Surrender.
