Bio
It's been quite a year for the Manchester, UK band, touring non-stop at some of last summer's biggest festivals like Glastonbury, Reading, and Creamfields as well as US stops at SXSW and CMJ Music Marathon. The Whip have been making a name for themselves stateside with their blend of dance/rock on songs like "Sister Siam," "Blackout," and "Sirens." The press has taken notice with features in Nylon Magazine, SOMA, XLR8R, Pitchfork and more. Spin called the first single "Trash," "a killer single..... can wreck a room." Rolling Stone selected The Whip as five bands to watch calling them "ready-made for dance parties, evoking Daft Punk, LCD Soundsystem" and Wired declared, "If the White Stripes are the new Led Zeppelin, The Whip is the new New Order." The Whip's song "Dubsex" was recently featured on MTV's Hill's spin off, The City.
