Simply Red recently celebrated their 25th Anniversary with the release of a a career spanning retrospective - SIMPLY RED 25 - THE GREATEST HITS. The compilation features 17 Simply Red songs, including the Billboard # 1 hit "Holding Back The Years" and the Motown classic "If You Don't Know Me By Now" as well as four other charting Hot 100 singles. The album also boasts of a brand new single, "Go Now", a cover of The Moody Blues classic.
The band first graced the scene in the post-punk era of 1984, rising from the streets and clubs of Manchester to dominating the British charts within 12 months. Over the past 25 years they have become one of the most successful British acts with worldwide sales rapidly approaching 60 million. Throughout their phenomenal career they have played over 1000 live shows to over 10 million people. Early in 2009 they embark on a massive Greatest Hits World tour and will play to over a million people by the end of the tour in 2010, starting out in Thailand, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, Brazil, Chile and the USA before heading back to the UK and Europe. test
