At the beginning of his career, Michael Londra performed numerous roles in Ireland, including the title role in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Pish Tush in Hot Mikado, Charlie in Brigadoon, Joe in Some Like It Hot, the title role in the concert version of Martin Guerre and Bobby Kennedy in the world premier of JFK. For his role in Some Like It Hot, Michael received an acting award at the Waterford International Festival of Light Opera.
He was the lead singer in Riverdance in the US National Tour where he performed at Radio City Music Hall in New York City and the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. In 2000 and 2001, Michael was the lead singer in Riverdance on Broadway. He also performed in Broadway on Broadway, which was televised at Times Square. He sang with Heather Headley in First You Dream: A Tribute To Christopher Reeve in the New Amsterdam Theater on Broadway.
His recording of Danny Boy was described by The Irish Emigrant in New York as "One of the best recordings of Danny Boy in history." The Youtube video of this recording has been downloaded by 3 million people as of October 2010. CapitalCeltic.com names Michael as "one of the greatest Irish singers of our time".
He created Radiocelt.com in Chicago in 2003 which is part of the Accuradio network (one of the top ten internet radio stations in the world). In addition, Michael has been very active in yet another role, this time as an ambassador for "Concern Worldwide" www.concernusa.org. Through several CD releases which raised considerable awareness for the charity, and through his high profile visits to Haiti, Michael has helped bring the issue of poverty and hunger to the attention of the public.
In 2004 Michael was chosen for the role of Jesus in "The Passion of the Christ Symphony" as the lead singer . This production was based on the score of Oscar nominee John Debney and had its spectacular US premiere in Hollywood on September 11, 2005.
He released an album entitled Celt, which includes several of his own compositions. His singing is the background sound of the "Look Around Ireland" DVD.
He is featured on the Universal Records 2009 release Arias Ancora with Andrea Bocelli, Il Divo, Kathryn Jenkins, Sarah Brightman, Luciano Pavarotti, Nana Mouskouri and Eva Cassidy.
As ambassador for Concern Worldwide in the US, Michael released a charity single on their behalf to raise funds and to bring attention to their fight against poverty.
