Bio
Kelly Sweet conveys a sense of depth, intimacy and sophistication not often heard in today's pop landscape. Like such stylistically diverse artists as Norah Jones, Josh Groban and Dido, Sweet is that rare singer that combines unassailable credibility and talent with an uncanny ability to connect with a wide audience of music fans. Her 2007 debut album WE ARE ONE was produced and co-written by Grammy-nominated producer Mark Portmann (Josh Groban, Celine Dion). The album finds Sweet's inimitable, otherworldly voice placed against the backdrop of intimate yet powerful arrangements. Several of the tracks highlight Sweet's innate ability to sing in other languages including French, Italian and Sanskrit. Her first single, "Raincoat," spent weeks in the top 10 on both the AC and Smooth Jazz Charts and over seven months in the top 30 on both charts making Sweet the highest-charting indie label artist at the AC format in 2007. She has opened on tour for Paul Simon, Kenny Loggins, Dave Koz and Anita Baker.
